Fault Line: A Hawaii Volcano Adventure

In this fast-paced adventure, a paramilitary group, The Korean Reunification Front, abducts a tour bus of elderly, U.S. Korean War veterans at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.  The terrorists plant high explosives in Kilauea Volcano, the most active volcano in the world.  They make their demands to the U.S. government, threatening to kill the hostages and ignite more explosives in the fault zones of the volcano, which would cause Kilauea to transform into a super volcano, creating a catastrophic mega-tsunami that would devastate Hawaii coastal regions as well as the U.S. West Coast.

The U.S. refuses to negotiate and instead, calls on their Special Forces to intervene, along with the world’s top volcanologist, Dr. Thomas Andrews, for his in-depth knowledge of Kilauea.  Joining him is his geologist wife Susan, and their apprentice, Bernard Wilkes.  Together, they must rescue the hostages and prevent the bombs from being detonated.  But the Koreans have a few surprises in store…

Michael Miller is the owner and publisher of Big Island and Kauai Adventure and Romance Magazines, established in 2004.  He has been writing magazine articles and working in promotions and marketing for 35 years. 

Alison Miller is a National Scholastic Writing Award winner for poetry and prose in 1994 and 1995 and graduated from Brown University in 2003 with a degree in Comparative Literature.  For twelve years, she has worked in education as a schoolteacher on Kauai and is the editor of her husband Michael’s magazines.
